As the principal applicant under the CEC, you can include your spouse or common-law partner and your dependent children on your permanent residence application so they obtain PR together with you. A spouse's language ability and Canadian education or work experience can also add points to your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. While the PR application is processed, an accompanying spouse may be eligible to apply for an open work permit and dependent children may be able to study, subject to current eligibility rules.
