How much relevant experience did the Self-Employed Persons Program require?

The qualifying experience had to fall within the five-year window immediately before the application, and you needed at least two years of it. The experience could come from being self-employed in cultural activities or athletics, from participating at a world-class level, or from a combination of both.

More than two years of experience generally strengthened an application. Because the program is currently paused, these criteria describe the legacy rules; any future replacement pilot may set different requirements.
