Remote workers tied to an OECD-country employer or an OECD-registered self-employment, who can perform their duties remotely and meet the income requirement, are eligible.
Eligibility centres on a genuine link to the OECD. You qualify if you are either employed by an employer registered in an OECD member state, or self-employed and registered in an OECD member state, and you can carry out your duties remotely while staying in Latvia.
Employees are generally expected to show a prior employment relationship of at least six months with that employer, and self-employed applicants document their activity and income over the recent months. The defining idea is that your livelihood comes from outside Latvia and travels with you, rather than from the Latvian labour market.
