Can the Hungary White Card lead to permanent residence?

The White Card is designed as a temporary, time-limited permit for remote workers. Holders are specifically excluded from being granted a national residence card, which is the route to long-term settled status.

If permanent residence in Hungary is your goal, the White Card is not the path to it. You would need to qualify and switch to a different permit category that does count toward long-term residence.
