You generally need at least five years of continuous temporary residence in Slovakia, and the long-term residence must directly follow that period.
EU long-term residence in Slovakia is granted to third-country nationals who have lawfully held temporary residence in the country for a minimum of five years. The five years must be continuous, and the long-term status has to follow directly on from that period.
You cannot accumulate five years of temporary residence, let it lapse, and then apply months or years later. Keep your temporary residence renewed without gaps, and apply for long-term residence at the right point so your eligibility is not lost.
