After five years of continuous, lawful residence a foreigner can apply for a permanent residence permit granting EU long-term resident status. It requires stable income, health insurance and, in practice, a Lithuanian-language and Constitution basics exam (with exemptions).
Family reunification lets the spouse, partner and minor children of someone lawfully residing in Lithuania (or of a Lithuanian/EU citizen) join them. The sponsor must usually show accommodation, stable resources and health insurance.
