Family reunification lets the spouse, partner and minor children of someone lawfully residing in Lithuania (or of a Lithuanian/EU citizen) join them. The sponsor must usually show accommodation, stable resources and health insurance.
The family reunification route allows close family members to join a person who is lawfully resident in Lithuania, or who is a Lithuanian or EU citizen. It covers spouses, partners and minor children, and the validity of the permit generally tracks the sponsor's own status.
To qualify, the sponsor needs to hold a qualifying residence permit (or be a Lithuanian/EU citizen), and you will need to prove the family relationship. The sponsor must usually show adequate accommodation, stable and regular resources, and health insurance. Applications are filed through the MIGRIS system.
Standard processing is up to about four months, or roughly two months on the urgent procedure. Because the resource and accommodation requirements depend on individual circumstances, it helps to prepare the supporting evidence carefully. ACME can help you assemble the relationship and financial documentation and confirm the sponsor meets the conditions, and we always recommend checking the current rules on the official Migration Department site first.
