Family reunification is generally possible, but usually only after you have legally resided in Slovenia on a permit for about one year.
Slovenia allows immediate family members, such as a spouse or registered partner, minor children and certain dependent relatives, to join a foreigner who is lawfully residing in the country. For students this usually means you must first have lived in Slovenia on your residence permit for a qualifying period, commonly around one year, before sponsoring family.
Each family member applies for their own family-reunification residence permit and you will need to show adequate accommodation, health insurance and sufficient means to support them. Because conditions can change, confirm the current waiting period and income requirements with the administrative unit before your family makes travel plans.
