Changing employer is possible, but during the early period of the card it is restricted and you must notify or get approval from the authorities for a new highly qualified role.
An EU Blue Card is linked to a specific highly qualified job, so changing employer is not automatic. In the first phase of holding the card there are tighter controls, and a change of employer or position generally has to be reported to, and may require the consent of, the police department handling foreign residence.
Any new role must still meet Blue Card conditions, including the qualification and salary threshold. Before resigning or accepting a new offer, check the notification and approval steps so you do not unintentionally breach the conditions of your card.
