The PGWP is intended as a one-time benefit that bridges graduates from study into work and, often, toward permanent residence. As a result, you are generally eligible for only one PGWP in your lifetime.
This makes timing important. Because you usually cannot get a second one after a later program, it is worth planning carefully so that you apply when it gives you the most useful length and the best position for your goals. If you have already held a PGWP, completing another program will not normally make you eligible for a new one.
