The family member's permit matches the worker's permit period but cannot extend beyond the validity of the family member's passport.
Family permits are linked to the sponsor. Your permit is normally granted for the same period as the worker's residence permit, so as the worker renews, the family renews alongside them.
There is one practical cap: a permit cannot be issued for longer than your passport is valid. Make sure your passport has enough validity before applying, otherwise your permit may be shortened to match it and you will need to renew sooner.
