Family members are an important part of this program's appeal. Where your job offer is for at least six months, your spouse or common-law partner is generally eligible for an open work permit, which lets them work for almost any employer in Canada rather than being tied to a single job.

Dependent children may also accompany you and can apply to study. Each family member submits their own application, ideally at the same time as yours, and must meet standard admissibility requirements such as medical and security checks.
