Can I bring family members on a Hungary Student Residence Permit?

The student route does not normally allow you to bring a spouse or other family members through reunification, which is an important difference from work-based permits. Students should plan on the basis that close relatives cannot join them on this status.

The one exception is a child born to a student permit holder while the permit is valid: that child can receive a family reunification permit once the birth is notified. For other relatives you would need to look at a separate, eligible immigration route.
