
Before you start, your employer must arrange health, life, occupational injury, and occupational pension insurance that meets Swedish standards.
A core condition of the Swedish work permit is that your employment terms match those of Swedish collective agreements or what is customary in the occupation. Part of this is a package of insurances the employer must put in place before you begin work.
This package covers health insurance, life insurance, occupational (industrial) injury insurance, and an occupational pension. Trade unions are given the chance to comment on whether the offered terms meet the standard, so an employer who has not arranged the required insurance is a common cause of refusal.
