How long is the Self-employed Key Worker card valid, and what work does it allow?

The Self-employed Key Worker Red-White-Red Card is granted for 24 months. It entitles you to fixed-term settlement in Austria and to pursue the self-employed occupation exactly as described in your application.

The authorisation is scoped to that self-employed activity. If you later wish to take up employed work instead, you would need to switch to a different Red-White-Red Card category and meet its specific requirements, so the card is not a general permission to work in any role.
