What qualifications do I need for a skilled worker permit in Norway?

Norway's skilled worker permit is based on your competence. You qualify if you have completed a vocational training programme of at least three years at upper secondary school level (for example as a carpenter or health worker), or hold a bachelor's degree or higher.

In some cases special qualifications obtained through long work experience can be accepted as equivalent. The job you are offered must also require this level of qualification, so the role and your credentials have to match. Note that applications from certain countries for some trades face extra documentation checks.
