CLB 7 in all four abilities for NOC TEER 0 or 1 work, and CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 work, in an approved English or French test.
Language requirements for the CEC depend on the skill level of your qualifying work experience. If that experience is in a NOC TEER 0 or 1 occupation, you must reach Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in each of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. If the experience is in TEER 2 or 3, the minimum is CLB 5 in each ability. You must prove this with results from an IRCC-approved language test, and the results must be valid when you apply.
