Can I take a second job or do voluntary work on a Skilled Worker visa?

Beyond your sponsored role, the Skilled Worker route allows extra work in some situations, for example a second job in an eligible occupation up to a set number of hours alongside your sponsored role. You can also do unpaid voluntary work for registered charities, voluntary organisations, or statutory bodies, and you can study.

The rules on additional work are specific, so check the limits before taking on extra employment. You cannot, however, access most public funds or the State Pension, and you must continue to meet the conditions of your sponsored job.
