Who is eligible for the Estonian Digital Nomad Visa, and can I work for a local Estonian employer on it?

The Digital Nomad Visa targets people who can perform their work independently of location. You must fall into one of three groups: an employee of a company registered outside Estonia, the owner of a business registered abroad, or a freelancer with clients mostly outside Estonia. The visa is designed for remote work for foreign entities, so taking up employment with an Estonian employer is not the purpose of this visa. If your situation changes to local Estonian work, you would need a different basis such as a residence permit for employment.
