The initial grant of permission is for the length of the role on your certificate of sponsorship plus a short buffer, up to a maximum of 3 years and 1 month.
You can apply to extend your stay if you still meet the requirements and your sponsor continues to sponsor you. Apply before your current permission expires to keep your status continuous and protect your route to settlement.
