Family Reunification — Long-Stay Visa and Residence Permit

Allows non-EU family members of a qualifying sponsor (a resident third-country national, EU Blue Card or ICT holder, refugee, or a Romanian citizen) to join them in Romania. IGI first issues an endorsement, after which the family member applies for the D/VF visa.

Who it's for

Spouses, minor children and, in certain cases, dependent adult children or dependent ascendants of a qualifying sponsor.

Key requirements

The sponsor holds qualifying residence (generally a permit valid for at least one year, or long-term residence, or is a Romanian citizen)
Proof of adequate accommodation suitable for the family
Financial means above the sponsor's own needs for each family member
Marriage/birth certificates and proof of relationship, translated and legalised
An IGI endorsement (aviz), then a D/VF visa and a residence permit application to IGI
