I do not have a job offer yet. Can I still come to Austria to look for work?

If you meet the points threshold but do not yet have an employment offer, you can apply for a six-month jobseeker visa at an Austrian consulate. This lets you enter Austria specifically to search for a suitable position.

For the visa you need a valid passport, proof of accommodation, health insurance and evidence of sufficient funds, and the AMS verifies that you meet the points criteria. Once you secure a job that matches your qualifications and offers adequate pay, the AMS issues a positive assessment and you can apply for the Red-White-Red Card itself. The jobseeker visa is therefore a gateway, not the final permit.
