Principal applicants in federal economic Express Entry programs and many Provincial Nominee Program applicants can qualify, subject to conditions.
BOWP eligibility is generally for the principal applicant on a permanent residence application under qualifying economic programs, including federal high-skilled streams processed through Express Entry and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). For PNP applicants, the nomination must not place employment restrictions (such as a named employer) on you, and you must submit the PNP acknowledgement-of-receipt letter. IRCC will only begin processing the BOWP after confirming your PR application meets the basic eligibility requirements, so qualifying under one of these PR programs is the foundation of the bridging permit.
