Yes. A natural child, an adopted child or a stepchild of the eligible parent can be eligible, provided the relationship and dependency are met.
The subclass 101 can cover a natural (biological) child, an adopted child, or a stepchild of the parent who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
For adopted children there are specific rules about when and how the adoption took place, and a separate Adoption visa (subclass 102) may apply to children adopted overseas. The relationship and the child's dependency on the parent must be properly documented in every case.
