The defining requirement of the Talent researcher (chercheur) permit is a hosting agreement, known as a convention d'accueil, signed with a research organisation or higher-education establishment approved by the French authorities. This document confirms your role as a researcher and the project you will work on.
The agreement specifies key details such as the purpose and duration of your research, your status, and whether EU mobility applies. Without a valid hosting agreement from an accredited body, you cannot qualify under this track, so securing it is the first practical step.
