When you submit a DV entry you are required to list your spouse and every child who is unmarried and under 21, including stepchildren and adopted children. You must list your spouse even if you are separated, unless you are legally separated, and even if they do not intend to come to the US.
Failing to list an eligible child or spouse, or listing someone who is not actually your dependent, can make you ineligible for the visa and disqualify your derivatives along with you. Accuracy at entry is critical because these family details are checked again at the visa stage.
