The EU Blue Card is a multi-year permit whose duration is tied to your employment contract. For a contract of two years or longer, the card can be issued for the length of the contract, up to a maximum of 4 years.
For shorter contracts, the card is typically granted for the duration of the contract plus an additional few months, within a lower maximum. It is renewable as long as you continue to meet the salary and qualification conditions.
