Dependants apply separately and their permission runs in line with yours. You will usually need to show you can support them and pay the relevant fees and health surcharge for each person.
In terms of work, you are limited to the sponsored job described on your Certificate of Sponsorship. You may study and do unpaid voluntary work for charities or statutory bodies, but taking on a second paid job is not permitted unless a specific exception applies based on your immigration history.
