It lasts two years for most graduates (18 months for applications from 2027 onwards), and three years if you completed a PhD or doctorate.
For applications made by 31 December 2026, the Graduate visa gives most graduates two years in the UK; from 2027 the standard length reduces to 18 months. PhD and doctoral graduates receive three years.
The visa starts from the day your application is approved, not from your course end date. It cannot be extended, so use the time to find work and, if you wish to stay longer, switch to another visa before it ends.
