An ETA does not give you any right to work in Australia, and working on an ETA is illegal.
What is allowed is tourism and business visitor activities, such as attending a conference, making business enquiries, or conducting contractual negotiations. These activities do not include taking up employment or providing services to an Australian business in a way that counts as work.
