
You generally qualify if you apply online from outside Canada and your job is backed by a Global Talent Stream LMIA (Category A or B) or falls under specified high-skilled LMIA-exempt situations.
The Global Skills Strategy (GSS) offers two-week processing on eligible work permit applications for highly skilled workers. The two main routes in are a position supported by a Global Talent Stream LMIA from ESDC (Category A via a designated referral partner, or Category B for in-demand occupations on the global talent occupations list), or certain high-skilled, employer-specific LMIA-exempt jobs.
To get the fast timeline you normally must apply online from outside Canada and submit a complete application, including biometrics. Incomplete applications or applying from within Canada can mean you fall outside the two-week service standard.
