You can generally bring your spouse or registered partner (aged 18 or over) and your unmarried minor children; dependent parents and dependent adult children may qualify on a discretionary basis if you have resided 12+ months.
The core eligible family members are a spouse or registered partner who is at least 18 years old (polygamous marriages are excluded) and your unmarried children under 18, where you have custody and they are dependent on you. These are treated as the standard, automatic categories.
Beyond that, Luxembourg allows some relatives on a discretionary basis, usually only once the sponsor has lived in the country for at least 12 months. This can include dependent parents who have no other family support in their home country, and adult children who cannot support themselves because of a serious health condition. Because these cases are assessed individually, strong evidence of dependency is essential.
