Unlike many investor or residence-by-investment schemes that limit employment, the Guest Investor permit gives broad work rights. Holders may take up employment under a contract, carry out independent (self-employed) activities, or act as a business executive or managing director.
This flexibility means the permit can suit investors who also want to run or join a business in Hungary, not just hold a passive investment. As always, normal company, tax and licensing rules for the chosen activity still apply.
