Spouses, registered partners and minor children can join a researcher in Finland by applying for residence permits based on family ties.

Where you hold a continuous (A) permit, a family member's first A permit is granted for at most one year, and an extended family permit can be granted for up to four years.

Each family member files their own application and provides documents proving the family relationship. It is often most efficient to apply at the same time or shortly after your own permit so the family can travel together.
