The sponsor usually needs at least two years of prior legal residence, though this can be waived for employees of approved foreign-personnel companies.
As a general rule, the sponsoring third-country national must have legally resided in Cyprus for at least two years before applying for family reunification, hold a residence permit valid for at least one year, and have a reasonable prospect of permanent residence.
The two-year prior residence requirement can be waived at the Director's discretion where the sponsor is employed by a company that is approved to employ foreign personnel. If you work for such a company, your family may be able to join you much sooner, so confirm your employer's status.
