Does working for a Company of Foreign Interests lead to permanent residence or citizenship in Cyprus?

Time spent legally living and working in Cyprus under this scheme counts toward longer-term status. After several years of continuous legal residence you may qualify for EU long-term resident status or permanent residence, and citizenship is possible after a longer qualifying period of lawful residence.

Each status has its own separate conditions, such as stable income, health insurance, a clean record and, for long-term residence, a Greek language and basic civic-knowledge requirement. Treat the work permit as a stepping stone and plan the later applications carefully, as the criteria differ from the work-permit rules.
