Your host must meet a minimum income based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) for their family size and provide a signed commitment to support you.
The Super Visa requires the Canadian citizen or permanent resident host to show they can financially support you during your stay. The minimum income is based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO), which Statistics Canada updates annually, and the threshold rises with the host's family size (including you).
The host must sign a letter committing to support you and provide proof of income. Note that starting March 31, 2026, IRCC is changing how it calculates family income for Super Visa eligibility, with the aim of making the program more accessible, so applicants should check the current rules when applying.
