It covers workplace-based training needed for registration, structured workplace-based training to improve skills in an eligible occupation, and training that builds capacity overseas.
There are three recognised occupational training types under the subclass 407. The first is workplace-based training required to obtain registration, membership, or licensing to practise in or outside Australia. The second is structured workplace-based training to enhance skills in an eligible occupation.
The third type covers training that supports capacity building overseas, such as for overseas qualifications, government support, or a professional development arrangement. Each type has its own requirements that the nomination must satisfy.
Workplace-based occupational training (other than professional development) generally needs to be at least 30 hours a week, with no more than around 30 percent being classroom-based. Make sure your training plan fits the type your sponsor nominates.
