A child who is under 18, or aged 18 or over but still financially dependent on the parent, or unable to work due to disability.
The subclass 101 is for a child who is the dependent child of a parent who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. A child generally qualifies if they are under 18.
An older child can also qualify if they are 18 or over and remain dependent on the parent, for example a full-time student who relies on the parent financially, or a child who cannot work because of a disability. The child also usually must not be married or in a de facto relationship.
