Where do I apply for the Long-Term Residence – EU permit and how long does a decision take?

Because this is a settlement title for people already living in Austria, applications are filed with the competent residence authority inside the country, typically the Provincial Governor's Office (Landeshauptmann) or the district administrative authority responsible for your place of residence.

The authority is generally required to decide within six months of a complete application. To avoid delays, submit a complete file, including proof of the five years of continuous residence, Integration Agreement Module 2, income, insurance, and accommodation.
