You must have passed the civic integration exam at level A2 or higher, unless you qualify for an exemption.
Naturalisation requires you to show you are integrated, which normally means having passed the civic integration exam at language level A2 or above. This covers Dutch language skills together with knowledge of Dutch society.
Some applicants are exempt, for example those who already hold certain Dutch diplomas or can otherwise demonstrate sufficient Dutch proficiency. If you are unsure whether you are exempt, it is safer to confirm before applying, because a missing integration result is a common reason applications are not accepted.
