A residence permit for employment, including the top specialist permit, is granted on the basis of a specific employer and position that meet the salary and other conditions. Because of that link, switching to a new employer is not automatic.
If you change jobs, the new role must still satisfy the top specialist salary threshold and conditions, and you typically must inform the Police and Border Guard Board or apply for a permit on the new basis. Confirm the correct procedure before you start a new job so you do not work outside the terms of your permit.
