Yes. After five years of continuous legal residence with sufficient means and health insurance, you can apply for EU long-term resident status.
The Blue Card is a recognised route toward long-term settlement. Time spent legally in Belgium, and in some cases time accumulated in other EU countries under the Blue Card mobility rules, can count toward the five-year requirement.
Once you hold EU long-term resident status, you gain stronger protection, including the ability to spend extended periods outside Belgium without losing the status. You will need to show stable income and valid health insurance when you apply.
