Yes. The EU directive allows researchers with a valid Cyprus permit to carry out part of their research in another EU member state for limited periods under intra-EU mobility rules.
Because the Cyprus Researcher Residence Permit implements an EU directive, it carries intra-EU mobility rights that ordinary national work permits do not. A researcher holding a valid authorisation in one member state can generally carry out research in a second member state, often for short-term mobility of up to 180 days in any 360-day period, subject to that country's notification rules.
This mobility can also extend to your family members within the framework of the researcher's mobility. The exact procedure, notification requirements and time limits depend on the second country's implementation, so always check the destination country's rules before travelling there to research. This mobility right is one of the most distinctive features of the researcher route.
