Formal recognition of your profession is required only in regulated fields such as healthcare, law or teaching. If your occupation is regulated, begin recognition early because it is a precondition for working in that field. For non-regulated roles, concentrate on clearly evidencing your degree, salary band and any research, patents or awards that drive your points score.
