What happens if the work quota is already full when my employer tries to apply?

The Decreto Flussi is a capped system. Each category has a finite number of places, and once they are taken the portal stops accepting new requests for that category. An employer who misses the cut-off cannot simply submit later in the year and expect approval.

If you are shut out by the quota, the usual options are to try again at the next annual click day or to consider routes that fall outside the quota system, such as the EU Blue Card for highly qualified workers or certain intra-company transfers.
