The permit is tied to active enrolment, so if you graduate, withdraw or stop studying you generally lose the basis for residence and must leave or switch to another permit.
A student residence permit exists to let you pursue a specific course of study, so your right to remain depends on staying actively and properly enrolled. If you complete your programme, withdraw, or stop attending, the underlying basis for the permit ends.
When studies end you would normally need to either depart Cyprus or transition to a different category such as an employment or business permit, if you qualify and can arrange sponsorship. The student route does not automatically convert into a work status. Planning your next step before your course ends, and confirming the options and timelines with the Migration Department, helps you avoid falling out of legal status during the transition.
