How long is the MPRP residence card valid, and how is it renewed?

The MPRP confers permanent residence, so the underlying status is not time-limited in the way a temporary permit is. The physical residence card, however, must be kept current.

In practice the card is renewed after five years, and at renewal a modest annual charge applies (around EUR 27.50 per year per person). Throughout, you must keep meeting the programme's conditions - in particular holding a qualifying property - because the residence depends on continued compliance.
