Children are not automatically covered by your application, but there are separate routes for minor children of a naturalised parent, and younger children may be exempt from the language exam.
Becoming a Portuguese citizen yourself does not automatically grant citizenship to your children in the same filing. However, Portuguese nationality law provides specific routes for the minor children of someone who has acquired Portuguese citizenship, which are assessed on their own criteria.
For language requirements, minors are often treated differently from adults: in many cases children under 18 may be exempt from the standard language exam, and adapted school versions of the test exist for younger ages. Because each child's situation is assessed individually, confirm the route and any documents needed for each child with the IRN.
