Frequent issues include income that is not clearly from abroad, gaps or instability in earnings, missing health insurance, and weak proof of accommodation.
Refusals often come from documentation that does not clearly prove your income originates outside Greece, or earnings that look irregular rather than stable. Applying with income just at the threshold, without a buffer, also creates risk.
Other common problems are health insurance that does not cover the full stay or all family members, no credible proof of accommodation, an incomplete criminal record certificate, or applying for the wrong category because you actually intend to work locally. If refused, you can usually challenge the decision through the issuing authority or the administrative courts.
